Baltimore City Emergency Preparedness

cdefense.jpg

The Baltimore Police Department in conjunction the Baltimore City Health Department, the Baltimore City Fire Department have developed the an Emergency Preparedness Plan in the event that a nuclear, chemical or biological event should occur.

The U. S. Department of Homeland Security has taken steps to elevate the preparedness level of the State and Local first responders, by giving them the tools and resources necessary to aide in a catostrophic event.

The Baltimore Police Department is in the process of issuing every sworn member Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).  Through our In-Service Training Program officers receive updates and training of what to do if accidents or attacks of these events should occur. Should an event occur that warrants such equipment our front line personnel will be equipt with the proper gear and knowledge to take control of a situation, isolate its source, and notify the proper containing authority.
